About Us

The North Coast 4x4 Club had its first meeting in 1998 with 16 Foundation Members (see picture on left).  Membership has remained steady over the years and long lasting friendships have been formed.  New members are always welcome and meetings and weekend and day trips are held every month throughout the Sunshine Coast and surrounding regions.

In 2008 we introduced accredited Driver Training courses for members through Four Wheel Drive Queensland who overview and issue all certificates.  This four-day course (held over two weekends) is vital for the preservation of the environment and safety of our members to be competently trained in driving a 4WD vehicle correctly.  Qualified and trained staff are members of our club and are involved in the delivery of this course.  Only members of an affiliated club, like the North Coast 4x4 Club, are able to access this course at a very low cost to financial members.

Membership:
Membership to the North Coast 4x4 Club is via invitation.  Once a visitor has attended a minimum of three meetings or events you will be asked to fill out an application form and members will then vote to approve your membership.  This is so both parties can get to know each other.  If accepted you will be sent an invitation which must be accepted within 30 days.  We have two types of membership and both have full voting rights:
(1) Family membership = two votes
(2) Single membership = one vote

Annual fees are $60 per family or $40 per single plus an initial joining fee of $10.  All memberships are valid for the financial year and expire on the 30th June each year.

Camping / Day Runs:
All day trips commence at 9am unless otherwise advertised.  You are required to have your vehicle in a roadworthy condition, with at least one tow hook front and one rear.  You are also required to carry your own recovery equipment (minimum of snatch strap and D shackles with safety rating suitable for vehicle) and also have a working UHF CB radio in your vehicle.

Our bi-monthly newsletter is circulated to financial members and details the current trip calendar, financial members' contact details, trip reports, photographs and lots of other interesting information.  Once you become a financial member you'll be added to our distribution list.
